Running for DHI

Running for DHI

Two staff from our Bath treatment centre and a family member in Bristol are just some of the people raising money for DHI this year.

Johnny Bailey and Ali Baxter work at the Beehive in Bath, and will be running the Bath Half Marathon this year to raise money. They are complete novice runners, which makes it even more impressive that they are planning on running 13 miles in just a few weeks' time.

Over in Bristol, Matthew Dawes will be doing a Tough Mudder to raise money. Tough Mudder is a run with a difference, mixing a 10 mile run with over 20 different obstacles and of course participants get very muddy! Matthew has been accessing the Families and Carers service in Bristol and was inspired by his experience with DHI to do this in our aid.

Ricarda Todd, DHI's Income Generation Manager, said: "It is always heartwarming when people we have helped want to help us by fundraising, or when staff are so committed to what they do that they are willing to run a half marathon for us! Money raised from these events goes towards enhancing the support that we can offer to clients across our services."
