Developing Health and Independence (DHI) helps those excluded from society to turn their lives around. We help people tackle some of the most complex issues, usually underpinned by deep poverty and lack of opportunity - homelessness, problematic drug or alcohol use, trauma and poor mental health.
We are looking for new people to join our experienced board of trustees at a crucial time. The impact of inflation along with significant uncertainty following the pandemic means inequality has been growing at an alarming pace.
We need trustees who care passionately about social justice to help us shape and deliver a new three-year organisational strategy to ensure DHI can deliver impactful services that make a lasting difference to people’s lives.
This role will suit you if you:
Share our values: Stimulation, Self- Direction, Flexibility and Zest for Life.
Can act as a ‘critical friend’ to the organisation to ensure good governance, including sound financial management
Are able to see the long term implications of decisions
Have a strong affinity with our solution focused ethos
Have excellent communication and networking skills
You can attend quarterly early evening Board meetings via Teams, at least one a year in person, plus occasional attendance at events in person in the Bath / Bristol areas
We are particularly interested in those with a background in public health, charity governance or commissioning experience at a senior level.
Please send an expression of interest and your CV to Company Secretary – Sue Hughes at shughes@dhi-services.org.uk BY 31st JANUARY 2025
