Do you love gardening? Do you love to work outside rain or shine? Do you have tools that you’d be willing to use to help others? Are you interested in supporting people who have struggled with drug or alcohol dependency to make positive changes to their lives? Then this is an opportunity for you. DHI is looking for gardeners to help maintain DHI properties, managed by Home Turf Lettings an award winning social enterprise and used by DHI clients. It’s also an opportunity to forge long term relationships and share your gardening knowledge and experience. Overall purpose of role: To ensure HTF properties’s gardens are well maintained and visually appealing to both tenants and the local community. Key responsibilities: |
Regular check up of gardens and upkeep e.g. weeding, mowing lawns, pruning bushes/trees/hedges. Fertilising/pest control as necessary to ensure healthy gardens and visually appealing to tenants/community.
Volunteers will need to liaise with tenants (who are clients of DHI) to co-ordinate visits. And possibly if they are interested, share gardening tips to engage the tenants in their own garden maintenance.
